In Africa, one of the best fashion trend setters is the modeling career which involves many young elegant ladies and gentlemen. The modeling career is still a growing one in most African countries. The reasons are very obvious.
In the first place, Africa people believe in their respective traditional values that cut across their way of living. In Africa just like in the developed nations of Europe and the U.S, the modeling career has to do with the exposition of the private areas of the human bodies. In the American Top model shows which many Africans watch via satellite T.V, the ladies involved from time to time are expected to appear slightly nude as part of the modeling demands of the show. However, in most African countries, the same trend is being introduced. But the point here is that many African parents see the modeling career as an unholy affair. Hence, they do their best to discourage their girls to take modeling as their life time careers.
Again, there is the danger of engaging in indecent dressing which many people frown at in most African countries. This therefore affects the modeling career in Africa. Such situations make the fashion trend setting a very difficult one. The majority of ladies who go into modeling do that as a part time job. This is because of the current ethical implication involved in the modeling career.
In all, one can say, that modeling in African countries unlike in the U.S and Europe, is not a major fashion trend setter as it concerns the African continent. It is just the best Africa can boast for now. The modeling career is yet to become a major life career for most young elegant ladies and gentlemen in Africa.
